About me
Why this exists
Hi, I am a new grad aiming to land a role in software engineering, data science or cybersecurity. This site is a gateway into my professional life so far, and to take you through my experiences and the impact they have had.
Tech stack
Python · Java · C++ · SQL · Verilog · JavaScript
PyTorch · scikit-learn · Pandas · React · Kafka · Kubernetes · PostgreSQL · Redis · FatAPI · PySpark · OpenCV · AWS Cloud · Git · Docker
Outside Tech
I love debating and have been participating in MUN competitions for the last 6 years. I am also trained in classical music and dance (Kathak) and was part of UNC's dance team, Blank Canvas.
Education
University of North Carolina
at Chapel Hill

Making bulletin boards as a Resident Advisor
Winning HackNC as a freshman
Post-exam sleepovers with face masks
AI Research Intern
Ernst & Young
Anomaly detection
We built a VAE-based anomaly detection model over 500K+ financial transaction records. The model learnt what ordinary spending looks like, and flagged whatever it couldn't explain.
AI Feasibility
We analyzed twelve GenAI ideas for cybersecurity audit work, with an emphasis on both practical applications and potential risks.
Impact
With the release of ChatGPT in late 2022, our team wanted to explore AI's potential impact on cybersecurity audit processes. Beside that, our VAE helped flag and bring high-risk cases to light (and beat the logistic regression model by 23% F1).
Software Engineer Intern
SkillUp Technologies
Frontend
I built 8 React chart components for the internal dashboard, ensuring consistent data visualization.
Backend
We worked on PostgreSQL indexing and caching compute heavy calculations in Redis.
Testing
I wrote unit tests in Pytest to cover cache invalidation and it ran with CI on every pull request.
Impact
The changes helped provide clear, fast insights on course completion rates, directly driving data-backed business decisions.
Threat Research Intern
Safe Security
Threat-intel briefs
I wrote 300+ briefs classifying breach events by attack vector, outcome and severity.
Risk modelling
We improved on a cross-sector risk propagation model, with emphasis on how one industry's breach decays downstream into others.
Impact
Our work helped organisations mitigate third party risk by scoring how breaches happening across the world impact their industry.
Automation
I automated threat-feed ingestion from SOCRadar and BreachNet through their APIs into Airtable.
Research Assistant
UNC Hardware Security Lab
TorchFuzz
I co-developed a compiler that turns Verilog designs into PyTorch programs, so simulations can be run in parallel.
Testbench generation
My main contribution was automating testbench generation and verification in Cadence (Xcelium), so debugging was way faster.
Why it matters
Traditional hardware verification using symbolic execution is often slow and heavily bottlenecked by path selection.
Impact
Our work aimed to address the limitations by accelerating the verification process and running a larger number of simulations in parallel.
Projects
Things built end to end
Sales Dashboard
Built a forecasting tool for a local automotive parts retailer, tracking sales across 3 store locations and 8 product categories.
XGboost · Pandas · Python
VeilAlert
Photon-powered safety system that delivers emergency call/ SMS notifications when pressed, built to provide safety.
Kafka · Kubernetes · Go
Recycle-me
As a hackathon project, we built a website that scans items and checks if they are recyclable based on specific county rules in NC
FastAPI · Next.js · OpenAI API
Yoga Pose Estimator
We built an ML-powered yoga pose estimator that unlocks the next pose only when your form is right.
PyTorch · OpenCV · Mobilenetv2
Leadership
Teaching, service, policy
Computer Shiksha
I developed a computer literacy program and secured old computers worth $4,000+ as donations.
Student Government
As an undergraduate senator I wrote bills to expand credit acceptance and to make entry into STEM majors more inclusive.
Mathematics TA
I held office hours and review sessions and wrote test papers for discrete math, multivariable calculus and reasoning with data.
People for Animals
Diplomacy Lab
Translated complex federal policy into training modules for the N.C. State Department, with the help of Blender.
Alpha Phi Omega
MUN Engagement Chair
Participated and won at MUN conferences across North America, while keeping the delegation inclusive and engaged.
